Are you working on a significant project this summer? Or maybe you have a visiting work group in for a few days? Or maybe you have an annoying maintenance task that you’re dealing with over and over? Take photos for use in Web sites, newsletters, social media, PowerPoint slides, and reports. Pictures bring your projects to life.

Below are some ideas for subject matter:

• People. Your story to life when you focus on people.
  • Action shots
  • Eyes and faces showing emotion
  • Hands “doing” (such as installing a tile floor)
  • Include kids, staff, volunteers, and contractors
• Before & after shots. There’s nothing like showing the positive change the individual or group has made!
• The end result. You might include the person impacted along with the final project (such as a happy cook pointing to a newly installed commercial range hood).
• Showing the problem. This is especially effective for when the audience is remote or hasn’t visited the site lately. Photo(s) can bring a budget request to life.

And remember to get the appropriate photo releases.
