Outdoor properties are doing great things with making their sites green or greener. And yet, if you visit the organization’s Web site, it’s rare to find a page with a summary of what they are doing.
Benefits of describing your “green” work on your Web site helps to
- Educate campers, guests, and participants.
- Prepare them prior to their arrival.
- Gain community visibility.
- Market your property.
- Demonstrate your mission in action.
Here are some ideas for your page:
- A short purpose or philosophy statement. (See blog entry, Writing a Green Purpose Statement)
- A list with headings and items clustered. In contrast, a long, unordered list of 25 things is usually difficult to read.
- Short descriptive paragraphs on a topic.
- A list of awards or applications submitted.
