SepticSmart (new EPA program)

(November 15, 2012). Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched a new program “SepticSmart,” to promote proper septic system care and maintenance. SepticSmart also provides industry practitioners, local governments and community organizations with tools and materials to educate their clients and residents. www.epa.gov/septicsmart

Several resources are available, including technical, funding information, and community watershed outreach.
