Grab a scrap piece of paper. Write down 3-5 areas that you always outsource. Now, next to each write down write down the reason “why” you outsource these areas.
Some questions to reflect upon:
Are the reasons you listed on your scrap piece of paper, explained well in your risk management plan?
What trends and factors are causing some of these areas to change? Does your management or executive team discuss the changes at key points in the year?
Areas some organizations outsource:
- Architectural design
- Electrical
- Engineering (structural, mechanical, etc.)
- Planning (forest management, master, strategic, etc.)
- Pest management
- Plumbing
- Risk Management plan (various items as identified in the plan)
- Tree removal (large)
