Camp Design: Master Planning Basics is a book that fulfills a long-standing need in the outdoor property industry. While geared towards camps, the majority of the book is applicable to other outdoor properties.
Whether you are about to undertake a master planning process or need to understand the multitude of pieces that went into your current plan, this book is an excellent foundation. It gives you the material you need to understand the depth needed for a quality plan, the expertise required, the vast range of the interrelated components, and the trends in the field.
Throughout the book, you’ll learn terminology, read descriptions, understand the value of each component, view photos, see many graphical examples, and have relevant Web site addresses. The gamut of master planning is discussed, including the process for making a base map, LEED, cultural resources, aerial surveys, site analysis, master plan drivers, etc. The book layout is nice and uses white space well. The book contents:
