Here’s a way to create a great atmosphere at your otherwise standard pavilion or group picnic shelter.
At the Greenland Open Space, their group picnic shelter has a store front on one side and part of two other sides. The open windows allow for the breezes to circulate the air (no plexiglass or glass).
The back side is a typical pavilion/shelter for people to congregate.
This particular structure was modeled after the historic Higby Mercantile Company – a store that sold general merchandise, gas, Deering farm equipment, Model T Fords, and wholesale farm produce.
