Beginning January 2012, inefficient incandescent light bulbs will be phased out, resulting in significant energy savings and reducing the environmental footprint. This is based on the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA)
The phase-out of the general service bulbs will begin January 1, 2012 starting with the 100W. The 75W will follow in 2013 and the 60W and 40W will follow in 2014.
