It’s great when you can give people a visualization of the significant milestones of your property. You’ll probably include buildings construction, dedication, and perhaps remodeling. Other ideas to include: utilities, forest management, ecological work, roads, significant individuals, activity/programs introduced, etc.

Dipity http://www.dipity.com is great free web tool. You can create, share, embed and collaborate interactive, visually engaging timelines that integrate video, audio, images, text, links, social media, location and timestamps.
Dipity has both a free account and a premium account. With a free account, you can create 3 timelines in addition to a public profile. A timeline can include 150 sources or events. You can make a public or private timeline.
On the Dipity website, you can see a variety of timelines others have done, including: Steve Jobs, news, hurricanes. Here are a few examples:

Dipity’s future plans are to make the timeline exportable to pdf.
As a note. When I was making the example, sometimes it took two tries for the picture upload or event to be saved.
