When Camp Stevens in Julian CA, was re-building their structures damaged by the fires, they continued their efforts to have art included in every building. For example, behind the sinks in an outdoor bathroom area is a mosaic. Several buildings have stained glass incorporated into the entries, and two buildings have fireplaces with artwork designed into them. The camp uses a local artist, James Hubbell, for the design of most of the art incorporated into the buildings as well as the design and construction of the camp’s outdoor chapel.
Camp Stevens was one of four camps on the ACA site manager tour. Information about the event is at http://callippe.com/blog/?p=2725
